Steps to Register for the NNAAP® Nurse Aide Exam
Complete nurse aide training program
Students must complete a state-approved training program. Once completed, your training program will upload your information into the platform, and you will receive an email prompting you to verify your information.
If you did not complete a state-approved Tennessee training program but would still like to become a CNA in Tennessee, you may apply through the challenge or reciprocity process. Please refer to the Tennessee candidate handbook for additional details.

Create or Verify Your Credentia Platform Account
If you did not take a state approved training program and are applying through a different route please Create an account with our online Credentia Platform system to register for testing by clicking the "Sign Up" link on the login page. You will need to submit an application for testing in order to register for exams.
We highly recommend that you read the Registration Quick Reference Guide with detailed instructions on how to register online for your exam BEFORE you begin the registration process.
Attention Previous Testing Vendor Users!
If you previously had an online account with a previous testing vendor to register for examinations, you'll need to create a new Credentia Platform online account. Click here to login and then click the "Sign Up" link on the login page.
When you create a new Credentia Platform account, all of the data from your previous testing vendor account will carry over to your new Credentia account.
Online Exams
Take your written or oral exam conveniently from home or work through Credentia online proctoring!
A live proctor will monitor you through the webcam on your workstation to provide a secure exam experience.
TN Nurse Aide Registry Search
To conduct a search, you will need the name, city, and date of birth OR registration number of the nurse aide.
Need to Renew Your Nurse Aide Registration?
To be eligible for continued enrollment on the Tennessee Nurse Aide Registry, you are required to work as a nurse aide at least one documented day (eight consecutive hours) for pay in an approved facility during the previous twenty-four (24) months.
